Urban SDK Data Hub is your team's data and file management solution.

Data Hub allows you to upload, download, request, and manage geocoded datasets. Data Hub is integrated with our Studio mapping and Dashboard builder.

  • Request new files managed by Data Hub.

  • Access files in Studio Maps and Dashboard Builder.

  • Download, delete and share any file.

  • Upload your own files to Data Hub for Studio Maps and Dashboard Builder.

Data Hub is the cloud icon in the left menu.


9 Steps to Download Datasets

Steps to Download

  1. Sign in to your Urban SDK account

  2. Select Data Hub from the left hand navigation

  3. Select "Create a Dataset" button

  4. Pick a Location

    1. Search for the Name of the City or County

    2. Select a location

  5. Pick a Data Type

    1. You can scroll through all available data types

    2. Or select a group filter option such as "Demographics"

    3. Select "Add+" button on the data type card such as "Household Size"

  6. Select Details

    1. You must give your dataset a "Name"

      1. The name will display in the Data Hub

    2. Select Year(s) from the available options

    3. Select a File Output from the available options

      1. CSV

      2. JSON

      3. GeoJSON

      4. Shapefile

    4. Select "Preview Dataset"

      1. Preview allows you to review the dataset column structure

      2. Preview also allows you to view data type documentation in the help center

    5. Select "Save"

  7. Your Dataset will be confirmed as in "Process"

    1. Processing may take a few minutes based on your request

  8. Your Dataset will be listed in Data Hub with a "Processing" status

    1. Once complete, the status will change to "Complete"

  9. To download, select your Dataset and then select "Download"

Datasets are stored in Data Hub and you can download it as many times as you need. If you create the Dataset in a Shared Workspace, anyone on your team will also have the ability to download the file.


Sign in to your Urban SDK account

To access Insights, you must login and click to your organizational account.



How to Build a Dataset

Select Data Hub from the left hand navigation


Select "Create a Dataset" button


Pick a Location

  1. Search for the Name of the City or County.

  2. Select a Location.


Pick a Data Type

  1. You can scroll through all available data types.

  2. Or select a group filter option such as "Demographics."

  3. Select "Add+" button on the data type card such as "Household Size."


Select Details

  1. You must give your dataset a "Name."

    1. The name will display in the Data Hub.

  2. Select Year(s) from the available options.

  3. Select a File Output from the available options.

    1. CSV

    2. JSON

    3. GeoJSON

    4. Shapefile


Select Preview Dataset

  1. Preview allows you to review the dataset column structure.

  2. Preview also allows you to view data type documentation in the help center.


Select "Save"

  1. Your Dataset will be confirmed as in "Process."

    1. Processing may take a few minutes based on your request.

    2. Exit this popup.


Download Dataset

  1. Your Dataset will be listed in Data Hub with a "Processing" status.

    1. Once complete, the status will change to "Complete."

  2. To download, select your Dataset and then select "Download."


Data Usage

Data usage is the combined data count of datasets in data hub. To review your Data Usage click the Data Usage button in the secondary navigation tab on the left.
